We isolate your DNA from your GeneKit sample, amplify DNA in regions that differ between individuals, and run your GeneGel in our in house scientific facility.   • Collect your Buccal (cheek) cells using the swab in the kit using the easy to follow instructions, sign the consent form, and return both to It's Genetic in the provided envelope.
It's Genetic!We isolate your DNA, run your GeneGel, and make your GeneticArt.
  • It's Genetic will process your cheek cell sample and isolate your DNA. Your DNA will then be processed to show your unique identity.
  • We use a process called PCR (polymerase chain reaction) to amplify regions that vary from person to person. These regions of variability make up a very small percentage of your entire genome.
  • We will then run a GeneGel and visualize your unique DNA banding pattern using ultraviolet light.
  • A picture will be made of your unique GeneticArt.
  • A colored proof generated as specified by your order will be emailed to you for your approval.
  • The final step will be printing and shipping your GeneticArt to you.
